Weigh-in Day (10-2-22)! Finding A Gym! Two-A-Days! A Basset Puppy Dog!

Good Morning Everybody.!
Today is Weigh-in Day…but first, if you haven’t seen this week’s Farmers Market haul it should be up today. I made it yesterday but then I went to bed. I was tired, so I didn’t get posted yesterday…but it should be posted before this video is posted. Long story short, we naught a lot of protein at the farmers markets. A lot of produce too. Go check out that video.
So this week I am down to 321.8 pounds…so that’s roughly five pounds down from last week. That is a lot, BUT we have a reward system in place that stipulates when I get to 320 pounds we get to go to this awesome pizza place in Georgetown called “600 Degrees Pizza”. The pizza slices there are as big as your face. That’s huge.
Anyway…I was trying to hit that goal so I threw in a couple of extra two-a-days back to back.
Y’all! My body was like, oh, let’s go back to some one a days. #Over50
Courtney’s weigh-in…last week I said she was down 36 or 37 She was actually down 36 and change. This week, she hit the 37 pounds lost mark…flew past that and is now down 38 pounds! That’s amazing! She looks amazing!
Today we’re going to check out some local gyms. It’s time! I miss my leg press machine. I love leg press machines. So we are going to look at some gyms today. Planet Fitness, LA Fitness, Gold’s Gym, and a mom and pop gym that our girls go to one in Georgetown.
I hope you have a great week. Remember that Jesus loves you! Wherever you are. In the mountains, in the valleys wherever you are. If you’re, you’re up high, you’re on a mountaintop and you’re doing great…or if you’re down, you’re depressed, things are crazy and you’re stressed out / maxed out, remember, The God of the mountain is the God of the valley. God is there to praise you when you’re doing amazing and he’s there to help you and assist you when we all get to that point in our lives when we’re just low. We all experience lows…and it’s OK…God’s got you fam!
Until next time…have a blessed day!

Today’s “Protein Heavy” Farmers Market Haul: Beef, Chicken, And Pork…Oh My; Donuts and Coffee Too

What up people?
We had a great day of grocery shopping at the farmers markets this weekend!!!
Had some valuable family time while perusing all the yummy treats and products you typically find at the F/M.
Our oldest joined us on our fresh produce adventure! It was a blessing to get to spend time with her.So we went to two farmers markets today.
One in Round Rock and one in Georgetown. We picked up some good food. Lots of food actually. A lot of meat.
We were running low on meat.
But I do want to say something before I show you the haul.
This week was the first week in a while (since we started) that we did not do our weekly menu planning and meal planning.
And yeah, it was bad. We were scrambling every night…scrambling to figure out what we were going to eat…and and so, a word to the wise, if you’re trying to be healthy and you’re trying to watch what you eat (which you should) I do definitely recommend meal planning. Make sure that you actually meal plan, if you choose to go that route. If you don’t, it kind of can really “screw you up”.
So, we were blessed today to go to the farmers market with our oldest daughter Carly. She was at home so we had a chance to hang out with her this morning. Had some amazing mini gluten free doughnuts from a place called Theo’s donuts.
Oh my gosh….so good!!!
We got coffee from our little coffee place inside the G-town farmers market…the Green Ape. We got Arabica bean Coffee.
GOT IT Iced with a splash of oat milk.
So good. And then we had a little donut like this big. I got a picture of it. You’ll see it in just seconds because it’s like this big. I had half of one and Courtney had half of one… a pistachio matcha or matcha pistachio Hall.
That was really good.
One doughnut’s got like 130 calories. So we just took in 65 calories.
Which I would have been totally fine with the whole donut… 130 calories ain’t bad and it was really really good. That was the best tasting donut I’ve had in a long time. *It’s not very good Krispy Kreme.
But it was really really good. Had Pistachios on top and the green tea…so yummy.
I’m assuming it was green from the tea… hopefully it wasn’t food coloring.
So good.
All right. So here is the farmers Hall, the Farmers Market Hall from today.
Peace!
Until next time…have a blessed day!

Healthy Lifestyle Update: Weigh-In Day; No Farmers Markets This Weekend (insert sad face emoji here)

Here is this week’s weigh-in day update. Still living the healthy lifestyle. We’re health eaters for life…literally.
We didn’t have a chance to go to any farmers markets this weekend because we’ve been so busy, so we’ll hit the produce stands and then have the kids go buy some necessities as the needs arise. There’s always a farmers market taking place somewhere in our area on a daily basis…so we’re not worried.
The good news is we loaded up on meat last few weeks… so we’re good to go in that department!

Weigh In Day: Weight Loss Goals; Farmers Market Finds; Health Shakes; Airstreams; Fat Boy Gone Lean

Weigh In Day Y’all!!! Here are this week’s results for Courtney and I!
Video Transcript:
Hey! What’s up peeps?
Alright, so I apologize for being sweaty. I just got through taking a load to our storage unit from our house. Details about that later.
Today is Sunday, Lord’s day, everyday is the Lord’s day! It is Sunday so it is weigh in day.
So two things…First, if you haven’t seen our video on this week’s Farmers Market haul, check it out. We checked out a new F/M…a really cool place. Only happens every third Saturday of the month. I think it’s only between like, April and December.
But it’s in a little piece of Leander Texas. If you’re in the Central Texas area. There’s a little piece of Leander, Texas right in the heart of Leander, Texas. And it is called Smooth Village. And first of all before we get to the farmers market, I want to tell y’all about “Smooth Village” itself, it is really cool because it’s just a bunch of like Air Streams that are like all around and you have like one section that has Airstreams you can walk into it’s like a boutique like a dress shop… it is really cool. And there’s another section that an Airstream that’s a bar. It’s really cool. We didn’t drink!
There’s another Air Stream that is a salon. It’s kind of cool. So it’s an Airstream themed park but then on the outskirts of it, there are probably five or six different food trailers, food trucks…they smelled really good. We were not there to eat or we might have had som of there food…it all looked like really good stuff.
So if you get a chance every third Saturday of the month in Leander Texas go check it out… it’s called the Old Town Leander farmers market. There’s one guy in there and he is from Rockdale, Texas. I can’t remember his his farms name….I’ll post it right here!
But he had a lot of stuff. He still has corn in season.
But then also he’s got to fellow supplier…they swap produce back and forth who’s from the valley. So he’s actually got like fresh pineapple, apples, and other fruit. Lemons, limes too. He had a lot of good vegetables. They grew at his farm. We got a lot of those and then he had a bunch of really cool fruits good foods too. And he had roasted peanuts, fresh roasted peanuts.
So they were really good. I got some tomatoes!
It was really cool! Go check it out if you have a chance.
So…to weigh in day…
I weighed in this morning and Courtney weighed in yesterday.
She has lost 36 pounds. She was so upset a week ago because she had kind of plateaued around 34 pounds. I say plateau…she lost like an ounce or two, but she was so frustrated. I’m like, “it’s just how it works…nature the beast.”
And then she totally jumped over 35 pounds, and she’s down 36 pounds. So happy for her! That is amazeballs couldn’t be more happy. She’s working out every day. She’s eaten healthy. She’s just a rock star.
Okay, I weighed in this morning and I am down to 329.8 pounds…So I’m technically what I weighed when I got married.
That is goal number three!!!
Number one goal was getting through 75 hard. That was a freakin hard goal. And I punched that dude it’s so happy about that.
And then goal number 2 was to lose 100 pounds…did that. And then goal number three was down to to 330 which is where I was when I got married. That just happened just now. And then my final goal, aside from my lifetime goal of staying healthy, is going to be to lose get down to 280…which is where I was when Courtney and I met. And the hope is that I get there by June 8. That’s what we’re hoping for.
I did lose like roughly four and a half pounds this week, five ish pounds, which is a lot.
I know one day, it was just a busy day (as days get) and our dinner was like salad and we went straight to bed after eating a salad. So probably wasn’t a good thing. I should have thrown a smoothie in there. By the way. If I haven’t told you about my smoothies. My smoothies are amazing. I encourage you to eat them.
Are they healthy? Sure, because they have bananas and they have peanut butter which is God’s gift to the world.
So it does have potassium it does have protein. And then I put almond milk and ice and that’s it.
I do a whole banana.
I do a heaping teaspoon of peanut butter, and then I add a cup of almond milk, and then I top it off with ice. Then I put it in the bullet, Zip it! whip it! And drink it! It is so, so, so good. It’s amazing. I put it in my fitness pal app as on my “favorite dessert”. So I just go in there and punch it at it. It adds all those ingredients into it.
So doing really well a little too much weight probably to lose in a week. But again, I’m still morbidly obese…still a big boy at 329 pounds.
Ain’t no hurry because it’s a lifelong change…not an overnight thang!
This is a lifelong journey. It is not something that you do is it is day to day but it’s not something that happens overnight.
It’s definitely not something that is “easy.”
Until the next video. Have a blessed day. Peace

Healthy Lifestyle Vibes: Tried A New Farmers Market; Smoking Sausage; Grass Fed Beef; and Tomatoes

We had a great time at the Farmers Markets today. We hit one in Round Rock, one in Georgetown, and one in Leander. You can always count on somebody having a farmers market or produce stand open on any given Saturday here in Texas.
We were on the search for fresh link sausage to smoke on the pit for a party we’re having Tuesday. To be more specific, we were looking for Cheddar Jalapeño Sausage AND we were also looking for a Garlic Sausage that is a wonderful pork / beef blend.
We get both of these from 2 separate suppliers. The cheddar jalapeño links come from a ranch in Georgetown, Texas called Edamie Ranch. They have amazing meats! And the garlic pork/beef links come from a ranch / farm in Killeen, Texas called Big Blue Sky Farms. They are an amazing complete supplier because we get tons of meat from them, but also fruits and veggies as well. We spent a lot of time trying out locally sourced meat vendors and these two are tops in our book!
We also decided to seek out a new farmers market to try. We landed on the Old Town Leander Farmers Market at Smooth Village in Leander, Texas. The had one vendor who had a ton of locally grown fruits and vegetables AND the sourced some of their produce from a fellow supplier in The Texas Valley region. That was pretty much it for produce. The F/M did have a vendor selling meat…but we had already loaded up, so we didn’t try any of his products…next time we will.
The little market also had a ton of food trucks (one being a full bar) and clothing, jewelry, and other product vendors as well.
Overall it was a great day of grocery shopping!
Until next time, have a blessed day!

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
It is Saturday so that means it is shopping day…grocery shopping day. So we are going out to our “regular” farmers markets then we want to try a third…one one we’ve never been to before. Courtney is in Ross right now looking for a blouse. But when she comes out she will look and see what local farmers markets there are that we haven’t tried yet. Just for to throw in some something different.
But today…we have a party on Tuesday. So I’m smoking a brisket and some turkey and some sausage for that party. And what we’re looking for today…two things we’re looking for…one of our meat suppliers, Edamie, (you’re awesome) in Georgetown…. they have this amazing cheddar, jalapeno sausage.
Oh my gosh is the bee’s knees. It’s amazing.
All natural grass fed up until the cows get processed.harvested as we like to say
So they have a really good product. It’s amazing.
And then we will go to a different farmers market for our second supplier, Big Blue Sky Ranch…which is phenomenal. They have a phenomenal product and they have a sausage that’s a garlic beef pork mix. Oh my goodness! It’s amazing. So we’re gonna get some we’ll have for the party available for those to eat.
We will have cheddar jalapeno and we will have garlic so people who are there will have options… both are amazing.
And again, they’re both all natural grass fed till the pay of processing so good stuff, man good stuff!
And of course, we’re buying tomatoes. People always ask, “Mitch, why do you eat saline tomatoes?”
My question is, “Why don’t you eat so many tomatoes?”
If you don’t eat tomatoes? Can I trust you? Can I really trust you don’t eat tomatoes. Tomatoes are the bee’s knees are they fruit? Are they a vegetable? They’re mysterious! They’re awesome. They’re amazing!
You put a little bit salt, Cayenne, and a little pepper on them…mmmmmm!
Now some of y’all just heard “sodium”and you’re like, Mitch’s sodium level is going through the roof.
Maybe.
But my test said no. Doctor test said no. I’m using all the right amounts.
So I will get some footage of our trip today. And then we’ll see the farmers Haul at the very end of this video.
So, until next time, have a blessed day. Peace!

Healthy Eating Hack: Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy Way To Cut/Eat A Watermelon! Your Kids Will Love This!

Y’all! I grew up in Luling, Texas, which…if you didn’t know…is the watermelon Capital of the world. So…I’ve eaten some watermelon in my day.
Not only have I eaten watermelon since I was weeks old…I’ve worked out in the watermelon patch picking, “chunkin’”, and loading watermelons! When I say loading…I mean loading 18 wheeler refrigerated tractor trailers full of them to be hauled to various parts of the country. It was a right of passage for most middle school aged boys back in the day.
BUT…in all that time (and the time since), I have never carved a melon like this! I saw this “method” of slicing a watermelon over on the TikToks! It’s awesome! If you have kids (of any age), they’ll love this!
I wish I could remember what account on TikTok actually had this…but thank you whoever you are. You’re brilliant!
Now! Go to your local farmers market, purchase a nice watermelon, and slice your way to a great big ol’ smile!Until the next time….have a blessed day!

Weight Loss Journey: Weigh-in Day; Wedding; Healthy Lifestyle Encouragement And…Farmers Markets

First and foremost, I want to take the time to remember those loved ones we lost on this day in 2001. It is a day of days that is forever etched into mi mind. I will never forget where I was, what I as doing, and the emotions that I had as I first started hearing reports of the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. Our lives were forever changed. Loved ones were lost and hero’s rose up to carry a hurt nation into a place of healing. I’m grateful that I live in the greatest nation of all time, and I’m grateful for the brave men and women who helped us through that tragic time. God bless them all.
This week was great! We had a blast at the farmers market! I don’t know if y’all can tell…we LOVE farmers markets!
This week, I was also blessed to be able to officiate a wedding in Burnet, Texas. It was a beautiful venue! We loved it! Had a blast!
Weigh-in day!!! Healthy living is still paying off. We love the lifestyle changes. Never going back!
Until the next time…HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
