This morning, as I was mindlessly scrolling through my Facebook feed, a friend’s post caught my eye. It was a profound post the simply read: “God has the tendency to pick a nobody, to become a somebody, in front of everybody, without asking anybody!”
What an amazingly beautiful observation!!!
In the grand tapestry of life, there exists a divine plan that transcends our understanding. Time and again, the God has showcased His remarkable tendency to pick the most unexpected individuals and transform them into somebody extraordinary in front of the world’s watchful eyes. This beautiful phenomenon can be aptly summarized by the biblical scripture found in 1 Samuel 16:7, “But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'”
David: An Unconventional Choices!
The Bible is replete with stories of God’s unconventional choices. Take David, for instance, a simple shepherd boy who was anointed as king by the prophet Samuel. David, the least likely candidate in the eyes of many, went on to become one of the greatest kings in Israel’s history. It was not his appearance or social standing that qualified him, but the purity of his heart and unwavering faith in God.
Gideon: Who Knew?
Another powerful example can be found in the story of Gideon in the Book of Judges. Gideon, a timid farmer from the weakest clan, was chosen by God to lead Israel in a battle against a formidable enemy. Gideon questioned his own ability, but God saw a mighty warrior within him. Through God’s guidance and Gideon’s obedience, the impossible was achieved, and a nobody became a somebody, leading his people to victory.
God Always Has A Plan!
Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of God’s enduring promise: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” This verse assures us that God’s plan for our lives, though often veiled in mystery, is one of goodness and hope. It implies that God has a purpose for each one of us, regardless of our current status or background.
Be A Nobody Who’s Willing To Be A Somebody!
God’s tendency to pick a nobody and transform them into a somebody is a testament to His grace, mercy, and limitless power. It signifies that no one is beyond His reach, and no circumstance is too dire for His intervention. However, this transformation often involves a process of refining, testing, and growth. It requires unwavering faith, perseverance, and a heart open to His guidance.
Bottom Line Y’all…
In an effort to inspire you to be the Somebody God wants you to be, I encourage you to embrace the profound truth that He has the tendency to pick a nobody to become a somebody in front of everybody without asking anybody’s permission. Your past, your limitations, and your doubts do not define you. Instead, let your faith and trust in the divine plan guide your journey. Remember the words of Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
With God’s guidance, your life can be a testament to His transformative power, and you can journey from being a nobody to becoming a somebody in His grand design. Embrace your unique path, for in the eyes of God, you are already somebody special.
